Fleur de Paris 24th January 2009 at Deco 5, WhitstablePerforming for the first time in East Kent, FLEUR DE PARIS are a four piece ensemble specialising in chansons and musette - the music and songs popular in the cafés and music halls of Paris between 1930-50. The musicians have performed for a wide range of audiences throughout Europe and beyond, in settings as diverse as the BBC, Glastonbury Festival, Wimbledon Tennis Championships, Cheltenham Festival, Savoy Hotel, Barbican Centre, and the Royal Festival Hall . The line up includes Lo Polidoro (vocals), Christian DuPont (accordion), Kirsten Hammond (violin) and Martin Brown (guitar). Tickets are priced: £8.00 in advance and £10.00 on the door.   I am a local. I have driven past Deco5 millions of times. Go inside. Outside does not do it justice. Had a very enjoyable and quality evening on Thursday. Good selection and choice of wine. Great music and very friendly staff. Support your local new business - a great change from the other choices we have. Lets not loose this one.

  Deco 5 combines delicious food with Jazz (on certain nights of the week). The building has been transformed with taste and care, is smart and slick-not remotely tacky. The galleries upstairs offer art of a high standard and variety of media for sale or just looking at! The bar and gallery areas have a lovely ambience and staff are smart and approachable, even when the place is really busy. The quality of performers seems generally high, too. Very strongly recommended!
