Quex Farm, Quex Park,
Quex Barn has its own butchery, fishmonger, greengrocers and deli as well as a restaurant producing delicious food, in beautiful surroundings, from this amazing local produce. We also have a spacious function room and ample parking. ...
My baby and toddler were made to feel welcomed in the spacious upstairs area. Food was fantastic, i had a massive doorstep sandwich and the best chips i've ever eaten. Ordered from the kids menu, my daughter's fish fingers and chips were home-made and delicious. High chairs and baby change available, staff didn't bat an eyelid at me breastfeeding. Can't wait to return
Among the dry-goods items we bought, we also bought some items from the shop for our lunch. The two sausage rolls (£1.50 each) were pink on the inside (not fully cooked) and the chicken and mushroom pie (£3.95) was wholly inedible. We should have realised when we saw the grease stain under the pie plate where the pie was placed on display. The sauces had separated and was an incredibly oily mess with flecks of flour paste. We have no plans to return. The farm shop in Faversham is heaps better - food and value wise. We tried to cal to complain but their phone rang incessantly, and no one answered it.
If you are in Birchington do not miss Quex Barn. I had a lovely lunch of squash risotto - which was very good value and really delicious. From there into the main part of the barn where although my basket was very full, with lamb and fish as well as bread and some veg, I couldn't believe what good value it was. I will be back even though I am not local. I wish this was on my doorstep.
