Mick 's Tackle are proud to announce their completely new range of Stainless steel bait pumps. We manaufacture these ourselves, by doing so we keep the quality of the build high and the costs as low as possible, the pumps are lighter and more productive than the Alvey type pumps being sold by other shops. We offer a custom built service ,Customers can order any length pump they like, after all we are not all the same height! ( Our Standard pump has a tube length of 35 inches, ideal for people from 5 ft 6 ins to 6ft 3 ins ) Get ready to beat the rush for these pumps as soon as the first cods show in september,by buying yours now ,you will never be at the mercy of bait shortages through the winter again. Get the kids involved as well, take them down the beach when you go bait pumping, its healthy for them and you never know ,they may even enjoy it!!Fishing at Hythe has seen a fair bit of improvement of late, some nice soles and bass are being reported in the shop, mostly taken at night, but there has been an increase in the mackaral showing during daylight and the bass are never far behind these obliging shoal fish. Dabs ,Eeels and dogfish are also showing at Hythe.Micks 'top tip' for the summer months- try 'plugging or spinning' from any of the rock groynes at Hythe, Seabrook or Sandgate, Bass love to lie in wait' on the downtide (usually the left hand side ) of these rocky man made groynes, ready to ambush passing mackaral or sand eel shoals. The best times are over low water and for the first hour of the flood tide. Best plugs are J13 Rapalas or any of the floating rattler or shallow diving plugs. Best lure by a mile are Bass Bandits and Bass Assasins-these are a 'leadhead' type lure with a rubber eel like body, they are so weighted that the hook point sticks out the top of the lure, reducing tackle losses.Tight Lines-Micky Sullivan.
